Build your own 'Skype-like' secure unified communication service with open source

The workshop will present shortly a set of open source applications that can be used to build a secure real time communication system, to provide services such as voice, video, instant messaging and presence, desktop sharing, a.s.o., everything through encrypted channels.
It will be organized in two parts, first giving a presentation of the applications, Kamailio for server side and Jitsi for client side along with the description of the target system and how to do it. The second part will be a practical worshop, with a quck step-by-step installation and live demos.
Über den Autor Daniel-Constantin Mierla:
He has a Master degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Polytechnics University of Bucharest. His experience was accumulated working as consultant for Orange Romania, branch of French Orange mobile operator, and researcher in network communications at FOKUS Fraunhofer Institute, Berlin, Germany. Since 2002 he is core developers of SIP Express Router (SER) project. In 2005 he co-founded the OpenSER SIP Server project (renamed to Kamailio in June 2008).
November 2008 was an important milestone in the evolutions of the two projects by launch of SIP-Router.org, the project that aimed to build a single SIP server application, combining SIP Express Router (SER) and Kamailio (OpenSER). As of Kamailio version 3.0.0 (January 2010), there is only one source tree shared with SER and same development team for the two projects.
He is actively involved in development and management of Kamailio SIP Server, working for asipto.com.
